Canva for Education is a free premium plan offered to verified teachers and students, providing access to all Canva Pro features at no cost. However, some users may also subscribe to Canva Pro independently or have their institution manage a paid Canva for Teams or Education plan. This comprehensive guide covers all methods to cancel or leave a Canva Education subscription based on how you originally activated it — through the website, Android, iOS, or an institution-managed plan.

Key Information: Canva for Education (for verified teachers and K-12 students) is completely free and does not involve billing — there is nothing to "cancel" in the traditional sense. However, if you are on a paid Canva Pro or Canva for Teams plan linked to an educational institution, canceling will stop future charges and revert your account to the free Canva plan at the end of the billing period.

1. Canceling via Canva Website (Desktop)

For paid Canva Pro or Canva for Teams subscriptions made directly through Canva on a desktop browser:

  1. Visit www.canva.com and log in to your account
  2. Click your profile picture or initials in the top-right corner
  3. Select Account settings from the dropdown menu
  4. Click on Billing & Teams in the left-hand sidebar
  5. Under your current plan, click Cancel Plan or Cancel Subscription
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts and confirm the cancellation

Note: Canva may offer you a discounted plan or a free pause option before completing the cancellation. You can accept these offers or proceed with the full cancellation as per your preference.

2. Canceling via Canva Mobile App (Android)

For subscriptions managed through the Canva app on an Android device:

  1. Open the Canva app and tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner
  2. Tap Settings → Account Settings
  3. Tap Billing & Subscription or Manage Subscription
  4. Select Cancel Plan or Cancel Subscription

3. Canceling via Canva App (iOS / iPhone)

If you subscribed through the Canva app on an iPhone or iPad, billing is managed by Apple:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your Apple ID / Name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find and select Canva from the list

  4. Click Leave Team to remove yourself from the institution plan

Important: Leaving an institution-managed Canva Education team will immediately remove your access to Pro features granted by that team. Any designs created under the team may remain accessible to the institution's administrator. Download or copy important designs to your personal account before leaving.

6. Removing Canva for Education Verification (Teachers)

If you are a verified teacher on Canva for Education and wish to remove your free Pro access:

  1. Log in to www.canva.com and go to Account Settings
  2. Click on Billing & Teams in the left-hand sidebar
  3. Under the Canva for Education section, click Leave Program or Cancel Education Plan
  4. Confirm the action — your account will revert to the free Canva plan immediately
