Disney+ (Disney Plus) is a popular streaming service offering exclusive content from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic. In India, Disney+ is available as part of the JioCinema platform following the merger of Disney+ Hotstar with JioCinema. This comprehensive guide covers all methods to cancel your Disney+ subscription across different devices and platforms, whether you subscribed directly, through an app store, or via a telecom provider.

Key Information: Canceling your Disney+ subscription stops all future charges but you retain full access to all Disney+ content until the end of your current billing period. Your watchlist, viewing history, and profile preferences are saved for a limited period after cancellation, allowing you to restore them if you resubscribe later.


1. Canceling via Disney+ Website (International)

For Disney+ subscriptions subscribed directly through the Disney+ website outside India:

  1. Visit www.disneyplus.com and sign in to your account
  2. Click your Profile Icon in the top-right corner
  3. Select Account from the dropdown menu
  4. Under the Subscription section, click Cancel Subscription
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts and confirm the cancellation

Note: After canceling, Disney+ will display the exact date until which you have access to all content. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address. No further charges will be made after the billing period ends.


2. Canceling via JioCinema (India Users)

In India, Disney+ content is now available through JioCinema following the Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema merger. To cancel your Disney+ / JioCinema subscription in India:

  1. Visit www.jiocinema.com or open the JioCinema app on your device
  2. Tap or click your Profile Icon in the top-right corner
  3. Select Settings or My Account
  4. Tap Subscription or Manage Plan
  5. Select Cancel Subscription or Deactivate Plan
  6. Follow the confirmation prompts to complete cancellation

Important: If your JioCinema or Disney+ subscription is bundled with a Jio telecom recharge, you must cancel through the MyJio app or by contacting Jio customer care. Canceling from within the JioCinema app alone may not stop the telecom-linked billing.


3. Canceling via Disney+ Mobile App

To cancel your Disney+ subscription through the Disney+ app on your smartphone:

  1. Open the Disney+ app on your Android or iOS device
  2. Tap your Profile Icon in the bottom-right corner
  3. Tap Account
  4. Under the Subscription section, tap Cancel Subscription
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts and confirm the cancellation

Note: If you subscribed through Google Play Store or Apple App Store, the Disney+ app will redirect you to the respective platform to complete cancellation. Follow the platform-specific steps listed in the sections below.


4. Canceling via Google Play Store (Android)

For Disney+ subscriptions originally purchased through Google Play Store on Android devices:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device
  2. Tap your Profile Icon in the top-right corner
  3. Go to Payments & SubscriptionsSubscriptions
  4. Find and tap Disney+ or JioCinema from the active subscriptions list
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription
  6. Select a reason for cancellation and tap Continue
  7. Tap Cancel Subscription again to confirm

To Cancel Google Pay Autopay Mandate:

  1. Open the Google Pay app on your Android device
  2. Tap your Profile IconManage Autopay
  3. Locate the Disney+ or JioCinema mandate in the active mandates list
  4. Tap Manage → select Revoke or Cancel Mandate
  5. Confirm the revocation when prompted

Important: Revoking only the Google Pay autopay mandate does not cancel your Disney+ subscription. You must also cancel the subscription from Google Play Store to fully stop future charges. Always complete both steps to ensure no further deductions are made from your account.


5. Canceling via Apple App Store (iOS)

For Disney+ subscriptions originally purchased through Apple App Store on iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap your Apple ID / Name at the top of the screen
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Disney+ from the active subscriptions list
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm when prompted

Note: Disney+ subscriptions billed through Apple cannot be canceled via the Disney+ website or app. Any refund requests for Apple-billed subscriptions must be submitted through reportaproblem.apple.com.


6. Canceling via Telecom Provider (Jio, Airtel, Vi)

If your Disney+ or JioCinema subscription is bundled with a telecom recharge plan:

  1. Check your Disney+ or JioCinema account under Account → Subscription to confirm which provider is billing you
  2. Contact your telecom provider through their official app, website, or customer care number
  3. Request cancellation of the Disney+ or JioCinema add-on bundled with your plan
  4. Verify cancellation by checking your JioCinema or Disney+ account page after a few hours

Provider-Specific Steps:

  1. Jio: Open the MyJio app → Go to My Plans → Find JioCinema or Disney+ add-on → Select Unsubscribe
  2. Airtel: Open the Airtel Thanks app → Go to My Account → Select Manage Add-Ons → Cancel Disney+ or Hotstar add-on
  3. Vi (Vodafone Idea): Open the Vi app → Go to My Account → Select Active Add-Ons → Cancel Disney+ or Hotstar add-on

Critical: Disney+ or JioCinema subscriptions bundled with telecom providers cannot be canceled directly through the Disney+ or JioCinema website. You must contact your telecom provider to cancel the bundled plan. Refund policies for telecom-bundled plans vary by provider — always verify the terms before requesting a refund.


7. Canceling via Smart TV or Streaming Device

If you subscribed to Disney+ directly through a smart TV or streaming device such as Amazon Fire TV, Roku, or Apple TV:

  1. Open the Disney+ app on your smart TV or streaming device

  3. Locate the Disney+, JioCinema, or payment gateway mandate in the list
  4. Cancel or revoke the mandate immediately

  • India Users: Disney+ Hotstar has merged with JioCinema in India — all Disney+ content in India is now accessible through the JioCinema platform

  • Access: Full access to all Disney+ content is retained until the end of the current billing cycle after cancellation
  • JioCinema Premium Plans (India): Mobile (₹29/month), Basic (₹99/month), Premium (₹149/month), Annual Premium (₹1,499/year)
  • Watchlist & History: Your profiles, watchlist, and viewing history are saved for a limited period and can be restored upon resubscription
  • Offline Downloads: All downloaded content for offline viewing will become inaccessible once the subscription ends
  • Verification: Always check for a confirmation email from Disney+ or JioCinema after completing cancellation

Troubleshooting

If Cancel Subscription Option is Not Visible:

  • Ensure you are signed in with the correct Disney+ or JioCinema account used for the subscription
  • Check if your subscription is managed through Google Play, Apple App Store, or a telecom provider — this will be indicated under your account's subscription details
  • Try accessing the account page from a desktop browser instead of the mobile app

If Charges Continue After Cancellation:
